Networks built for Friday at seven.
Restaurants, cafes, bars, and retail stores live or die by POS uptime. We build dedicated, PCI-compliant networks designed for a packed dining room and matched to the published network spec for Toast, Square, Clover, Lightspeed, or whichever POS you run.
Wi-Fi 7 networking
Multi-gig, segmented, surveyed before install.
Cameras you own
Local NVR storage, no cloud fees.
Door and gate access
Mobile credentials, intercoms, audit logs.
Cabling to code
Cat6A, fiber, documented.
What goes wrong without the right infrastructure
POS dropouts cost real money
A ten-minute outage during dinner service can mean lost orders, comped meals, and bad reviews. Hardwired terminals and a dedicated POS network remove the most common cause.
PCI-DSS applies to you
Anyone taking cards has to meet PCI-DSS: segregated POS traffic, a properly configured firewall, and documented controls. It is much cheaper to do right the first time than after an audit.
Kitchens are hard on Wi-Fi
Microwaves, induction cooktops, and stainless steel interfere with wireless. We survey and place APs so handhelds and kitchen displays stay connected through the rush.
Cameras catch what staff miss
Theft, fraudulent voids, slip-and-fall claims, and walkouts. Coverage at the register, dining room, and back of house pays for itself with the first incident it documents.
How each service applies to retail & dining
A network designed around your POS.
Toast, Square, Clover, Lightspeed: the principles are the same. A dedicated VLAN for POS, hardwired terminals wherever possible, and Wi-Fi 7 with proper roaming for handhelds.
- Dedicated POS VLAN separated from guest, staff, and IoT
- Hardwired Cat6A to fixed terminals and kitchen displays
- Built to your POS vendor's published network requirements
- RF survey to find and work around kitchen interference
- Branded guest Wi-Fi with a captive portal
- Cellular failover so cards still run when the ISP goes down
Coverage at the register, the floor, and the back door.
Cameras on local storage, back-door access with audit logs, and alerts that go to the manager on duty. When something happens, the footage is on site and ready to pull.
- Cameras at POS stations, dining room, bar, back of house, and exterior
- Local NVR, no monthly per-camera fee
- Back-door and office access with mobile credentials
- Delivery and after-hours alerts to the manager on duty
- Footage export in minutes for insurance or police reports
Terminals hardwired, kitchen displays hardwired, nothing on a hope.
Wireless is for handhelds. Fixed terminals, kitchen display screens, printers, and cameras get copper. We run it clean and document it so the next build-out is easy.
- Cat6A to every fixed terminal, KDS, printer, and camera
- Cable paths planned around hoods, fryers, and wash areas
- Small rack or wall cabinet with labeled patch panel
- Tested and certified before the first shift
- As-built drawing for the next remodel
The back office, handled.
Beyond the POS, there are office PCs, manager email, scheduling and payroll logins, and shared passwords on sticky notes. We manage those devices and accounts, put CrowdStrike on the office machines, move shared logins into Bitwarden, and keep everything patched, so a phishing email to a manager does not turn into a card-data problem.
Learn more about managed IT →Built to your POS vendor's spec so support stays simple.
Every POS platform publishes its own network requirements: subnets, VLANs, wireless security, and which devices must be hardwired. We design to that spec from day one, so when you call your POS vendor for support, troubleshooting takes minutes instead of hours.
